Today being April 1 … a monday, thus 100 Word Challenge for Adults day … All Fool’s Day to some, April Fool’s day to others but in both cases a day devoted to fools, and me being a master fool, a master of 100WCGU (in my mind anyway) and also a master of long complicated sentences … frankly I lost where I was going with this particular long complicated sentence.
Anyway it has been a while since I was one of the first to post a challenge piece, and seeing as I seem to be in the mode today … I am all over it again. This week’s theme (in honor of the Day of Fools) is:
…I don’t believe it…
preferably with a bit o’ humor in it. I can’t vouch for the humor ( I seem less funny when I actually TRY to be funny), but here is my attempt. Hope it was worth wading through the above nonsense 🙂
She looked at me with suspicion in her eyes.
“Would I lie to you?” I said with a grin. She just snorted again. “Well there is only one way to find out. Come with me right now and you will see I am telling the truth.”
“Seriously?” she laughed. “This is April Fool’s Day. They practically designed this day for you. I don’t believe it.” She then gave me ‘the eye’ again.
“Suit yourself!” I said. I went outside, imagining her face if she saw me stepping into the limo.
Sometimes the best practical joke is to tell the truth!
