Seeking a miracle

Since I seem to be pretending to be part of the world again for the moment, I figured it was about time I got back in touch with my inner 100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups Imp. I have ben neglecting that worthy bit o’ imagination spreading for far too long again. Technically I have been pretty much neglecting EVERYTHING for too long, but somehow that particular bit of negligence feels sacrilegious. So here I am again, tickling my brain with this week’s prompt:

…the unseasonal weather meant …

Let’s see if I am up to the challenge yet …

Spring was in the air. Usually this would fill hearts with joy and hope for the future, but these were not “usual” times. An ancient evil had been awakened. There was no denying it any more. The reality was that the only thing that was holding it at bay right now was the presence of winter. The unseasonable weather meant that there was still time for a miracle. Fear could be kept at arms length still because the inevitable was still not on the doorstep. The question in everyone’s mind still remained. Would deliverance come? Hope was still alive, but time was growing shorter.
