I am not a very material oriented person, which makes for easy nomadic lifestyle, but I guess also makes it very difficult when people feel the need to buy me gifts. Generally I try to talk people out of it when they ask what I might want, unless there is actually something I am in need of. But this year, due to my recent bout of insanity, I have pretty much set an open invitation for anyone who feels the sudden urge to give me a gift. Feel free to send me anything that might help me survive in wilderness extremes. I will gladly give my address! No need to be picky about the reason for giving gifts. Birthday, New Chrimsakwanzaka, St Swithin’s day … whatever floats your boat. By the way, my birthday is this sunday.
Since my birthday is this Sunday (May 26) and I am going on the death-defying (or at least starvation defying) adventure in less than a year my sister (none other than Lisa … The Woman Wielding Words) and her hubby decided to buy me that cool camp stove that also charges batteries. It was a very nice gift for my birthday which is coming up this Sunday. I am planning on going on a hike for my birthday (which is this sunday), and figured I might find an excuse to try out this birthday gift (that I got now because my birthday is this coming Sunday). Of course it seemed wise to try it out in the safety of the home environ first.
So if anyone come across some useful item that has you saying “I know someone who could use this for a camping trip!”, feel free to pick it up … er … um … point it our way so we can look into it. No need to feel that a gift of some sort is necessary for my birthday, which happens to be this coming sunday. Oh by the way, I would like to say welcome to our new Babysitter hiking partner known as Shelbygrl, as she joins the ranks of idiots. It is nice of her to join us. It’s almost like another early birthday present, since my birthday is this coming sunday.
P.S. Did I mention that my birthday is coming soon? This sunday as a matter of fact. May 26.
I might have to ask for a fire-retardant suit to wear…….for when you are trying to use that stove anywhere in my vicinity 🙂 What was happening on Sunday? I have a feeling you were trying to hint about something on Sunday……………………….. 🙂
